LANCASTER, Pa. --- Seven members of the Moravian College football team have been named to the 2017 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll that includes 126 football players and a total of 584 student-athletes from the conference.

To be named to the Centennial Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.

The Greyhounds had one senior on the Academic Honor Roll – fullback Stanton Santos, who made the list for a third straight fall while juniors defensive lineman Vincent Pianoforte, linebacker Tanner Stokes and defensive back Nick Zambelli and sophomores defensive lineman Nick Ghasab, linebacker Joseph Milano and fullback Sal Pagano, also garnered spots on the Academic Honor Roll for the Greyhounds.

"The recognition that Nick, Joseph, Sal, Vince, Stanton, Tanner and Nick received for making the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll is well deserved," stated Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "These seven young men have done a tremendous job balancing their academic schedules, along with putting in a good deal of time and dedication to the football program. I am very proud of their accomplishments as student-athletes."

Santos had seven tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams while also seeing time on offense. Pianoforte contributed 29 tackles with five for loss and a sack while Zambelli, who was selected to the 2017 Centennial All-Conference Second Team, added 70 tackles with one for loss, a sack, three interceptions, six total passes defended, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble and Stokes made six tackles.

Milano contributed 36 tackles with half a tackle for loss despite missing three games with injury while Pagano had a tackle in two games on special teams before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. Ghasab suffered an injury during the preseason and missed the entire fall.

The Greyhounds finished 2-8 overall and were tied for eighth in the Centennial Conference with a 2-7 mark.
