TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior goalie Bryan Yaskowski has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for his performance last week in the opening matches of the season.

Yaskowski helped the Greyhounds begin the 2017 campaign with a pair of shutouts in the 19th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic hosted by Swarthmore College. He recorded three saves in his sixth career shutout in a 1-0 win over Hood (Md.) College to start the fall season, and Yaskowski added three more saves while playing the first 82:10 in a 3-0 victory over Rosemont College to close out the tournament.

"Bryan had a phenomenal opening weekend posting two shutouts against solid opponents," stated Head Coach Todd Ervin, who is in his ninth season leading the Greyhounds. "He is picking up right where he left off last year and his on field leadership combined with his fantastic play will be a great combination for the team this year."

Moravian is slated to play its first home match of the 2017 season on Wednesday, September 6 when the Greyhounds host Centenary (N.J.) University at 4:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
