Softball Returns to NFCA Top 25 Poll with No. 22 Ranking This Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team has returned to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll with the Greyhounds ranked No. 22 this week.

Moravian, which is 9-3 on the season, was 18th in the preseason poll and 17th in the first regular season poll on February 28. The Hounds fell into the receiving votes category last week after a 3-3 mark in the 2018 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Arizona. The Blue and Grey finished their trip west with a 6-0 mark in the Tucson Invitational to move back into the poll this week at 22nd.

To finish off the Tucson Invitational, Moravian defeated the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.), which is tied for 23rd in this week's poll, while two of the Greyhounds' three losses at the Leadoff Classic were to No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University and No. 21 the University of St. Thomas (Minn.).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, March 15 in a non-conference doubleheader at Gwynedd Mercy University beginning at 3:00 p.m.
