Ratcliff Selected as Landmark Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore forward Marquis Ratcliff has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Ratcliff, who earned his third Landmark Conference honor of the season, recorded 23.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest over two games. He connected 16-for-27 shots from the field, 1-for-5 attempts beyond the three-point line and 14-for-16 free throws as he was on the court for 67 of 80 minutes during the week. Ratcliff also had four blocked shots and two assists during the week. Ratcliff netted 14 points to go with nine rebounds and two blocked shots in the Hounds' 78-68 triumph over Elizabethtown College before registering his fourth 30-plus point scoring effort in a 76-56 win versus The University of Scranton at the Palestra. Ratcliff completed the contest with his sixth double-double of the year as he posted 31 points and 14 rebounds to go with a pair of blocked shots. Ratcliff scored Moravian's first nine points against the Royals and connected on 10-of-10 shots from the charity stripe for the second time this winter.

"Marquis continues to get better," stated Head Coach Darryl Keckler. "He just had a great week leading us to two wins and I look forward to seeing his progression continue the rest of the year."

The Greyhounds, who are 7-8 overall and 3-5 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 17 in a Landmark Conference contest versus Wilkes University tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
