Siddron Scores 100th Career Point to Lead Greyhounds to Landmark Conference Win at Drew

MADISON, N.J. --- Junior attack Cade Siddron became the eighth men's lacrosse player in Moravian College history to reach 100 career points as he helped the Greyhounds to a 16-2 Landmark Conference victory at Drew University Saturday in the final road game of the year.

The Hounds, now 8-6 overall and 2-3 in Landmark Conference action, picked up the second winning season in school history with the victory.

Siddron was one of eight Greyhounds to find the back of the net on Saturday, and he finished with two goals and four assists. Sophomore attack Connor Hull led the way with four goals to go with a pair of ground balls while senior attack Mark Laratta contributed three goals and three assists. Senior midfielder Alec Oriolo and freshman attack Connor James each netted two goals while senior midfielder Dominick Gurreri, senior midfielder Austin Adams  and sophomore midfielder Timothy Dwyer all scored once. Sophomore attack Matt Comini added an assist.

Senior goalie Kurt Dick recorded 12 saves and his 25th career victory in the net in 53 minutes of action while sophomore goalie Will Dadouris stopped all four shots he faced in the final seven minutes. Sophomore defender Tanner Leslie scooped up a team-high six ground balls and also caused three turnovers while junior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke had four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Senior midfielder Rick Guerra won 8-of-19 face-offs had had four ground balls while senior defender Brian Biase and James each scooped up three ground balls.

Hull opened the scoring with two straight goals, the first one coming five and a half minutes into action, and when Dwyer scored at the 4:03 mark, Moravian had a 3-0 edge. The Rangers netted a goal a minute and a half later before Laratta scored in the final 20 seconds of the quarter to give the Blue and Grey a 4-1 edge after 15 minutes of action.

Moravian added four more goals in the second quarter including man-up goals from Hull and Siddron to lead 8-1 at the intermission. The Greyhounds tacked on the first three goals of the third quarter before Drew scored again. Laratta added another man-up goal and Gurreri also scored as the Hounds had a 13-2 edge after 45 minutes of play. Hull scored one more man-up goal in the fourth quarter, one of three Moravian goals in the final period.

The Greyhounds are slated to finish the 2019 regular season on Saturday, April 27 when the squad hosts The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field. Prior to the match, the Greyhounds will honor its 13 departing seniors that have helped the program to a 31-27 record since returning to varsity status in 2016 including the only two winning seasons in school history.
