NEW ORLEANS, La. --- Senior Matthew Lutcza of the Moravian College men's cross country teams has been named to the 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country Team.
With the fall season now complete, a first-time leader has emerged as The Catholic University of America holds the top stop in the Landmark President’s All Sports Cup standings. Moravian is currently in fourth place.
Seniors Diana Feldmann, Matt Lutcza and Cadee Rockwell along with junior Nicholas Hurff from Moravian College have been named to the 2011 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team.
The Moravian College men's cross country team placed 13th of 47 teams at the 2011 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship hosted by DeSales University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 360 while Haverford College won the meet with a team total of 52. Dickinson College was second with a 129. The Moravian College men and women’s cross country teams are ranked for the third straight week in the NCAA Division III regional rankings released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women moved up to ninth from ten while the men stayed at ten in the Mideast Region.
The Moravian College men's cross country team won its first Landmark Conference title at the the 2011 championship meet hosted by the Greyhounds at Lehigh University's Goodman Campus. The race was was shortened from its scheduled 8,000-meters due to a tree falling from the heavy wet snow and blocking the a portion course. By the time the men's race began at 2:00 p.m., there were nearly four inches of snow on the course. This is the first conference Championship the Moravian men's cross country team has won since 1998.

The Greyhounds scored 329 points while Dickinson College won the meet with 58 points and Allegheny College was second with 104 points. The race was split into two sections, red and blue, and Moravian was seventh in the blue section.
The Moravian College men’s cross country team competed at the 38th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run at Lehigh University Friday afternoon. The Greyhounds had a team score of 757, while Iona College won the race with 125 points. The University of Oklahoma won the gold race and Kutztown University won the white race as 133 teams and 1,593 runners competed in three 8,000-meters races.

The Moravian College men's cross country team returned to action Saturday at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational after two weeks off, and the Greyhounds finished fourth out of 21 teams in the 8,000-meter long-course. Moravian did not compete in the 6,000-meter short-course race.
