Jaindl Honored as Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for 4th Time in 2018

Greg Jaindl has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for a fourth time in 2018.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior Gregory Jaindl has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Jaindl, who was honored for the fourth time this fall by the Landmark Conference, led the Greyhounds to an 18th place finish at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Rowan University, a race that featured some of the top teams in the nation across the Atlantic, Mideast and Great Lakes Regions. He placed 15th of the 394 runners in the race with a time of 25:23.61 on the 8,000-meter course. Jaindl's time was a PR by 19 seconds and ranks as the seventh fastest time in school history.

"We were hoping he'd have a shot at breaking 25:00 but with how bad the mud was it just wasn't feasible," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "The winner of the race is a sub 14:20 5ker so to be within 20 seconds of him is great accomplishment. Greg was also 3rd among likely NCAA qualifiers from our region so it gives him confidence that NCAAs in November is a real possibility."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action at the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships being hosted by Elizabethtown College at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 27 with the first race set for 11:00 a.m.
