Moravian Captures Pair of Event Titles with Seven Regional Marks in Coach Pollard Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field squad captured a pair of event titles and recorded seven All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks on day two of the 2024 Coach Pollard Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track Saturday. 

Moravian Event Winners

  • Senior Vicky Donovan won the javelin with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 35.00 meters (114-10)
  • Sophomore Margie Rayne took first in the discus with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 42.40 meters (139-1)

Moravian Top 10 Finishers

  • Junior Abby Giamoni finished as the runner-up in the 400-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying and PR time of 57.35 seconds, tied for the seventh best in program history, while freshman Rachele Grigoli took eighth in 1:00.95
  • Moravian's 4x100-meter relay of Giamoni, Grigoli, senior Lexi Groff and sophomore Shai Knight placed third in an AARTFC qualifying time of 48.81 seconds
  • Junior Abby McClaskey was third in the javelin at an AARTFC qualifying distance of 34.51 meters (112-0) while junior Liz Miskovsky placed ninth at 28.04 meters (92-0)
  • Junior Caillie Fish finished third in the discus with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 38.19 meters (125-3) while sophomore Karalyn Vashey was ninth at 33.59 meters (110-2)
  • Giamoni took fourth in the 200-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.51 seconds.
  • Junior Rachael Goodman was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:58.56 while freshman Kayla O'Neil placed ninth in 19:27.41
  • Freshman Alyssa Hockenberry was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:13.60 while freshman Alexis Hockenberry took seventh in 12:17.60 and junior Hannah Kolonoski was eighth in 13:07.16
  • Groff finished ninth in the high jump at 1.55 meters (5-1)
  • Junior Amber Poniktera placed tenth in the 1,500-meter run with a time 5:04.86
  • The Hounds' 4x400-meter relay team of Poniktera, junior Lexi Rushatz, junior Rylie Murphy and sophomore Elena Bocchetti was eighth in 4:21.02
  • Prior the beginning of the meet, Moravian honored its four seniors – Vicky Donovan, Emma Garchinsky, Lexi Groff and Pia Mazzella DiBosco
