TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior sprinter Abby Giamoni has been named as the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Giamoni, who received the Landmark honor for the second straight week, won the 200-meter dash at the Muhlenberg College Invitational in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 25.41 seconds, and she also finished first in the 400-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying time of 58.92 seconds. Giamoni ran a leg of Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad that was second in a time of 50.76 seconds.

"Abby continues to look better than she ever has before," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "She looked strong at Stockton last weekend, but she looked dominant on Saturday at Muhlenberg. She was explosive in our 4x100 relay on Saturday and came within tenths of a second of PRs in the 200 and 400 despite some really challenging weather conditions on Saturday, especially for sprinters. We continue to see this new runner in her mentality every day, her workouts, and it's obviously showing itself in her races as well. We're just implementing some of our speed endurance training over the past few weeks, so as she continues to adapt to that, and as we get better weather, we expect to see even more impressive times and races from her."

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, April 13 in a tri-meet at DeSales University with Muhlenberg College.
