Lynne Grzywacz Webb '99 - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Lynne Grzywacz Webb ’99, a former women’s tennis and women’s basketball player for the Greyhounds, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3, 2017 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Lynne Grzywacz Webb '99, a former women's tennis and women's basketball player for the Greyhounds, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3, 2017 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Webb, who graduated in 1999, was a standout on the hard-court with the women's tennis team and the hardwood with the women's basketball squad for four years. Webb still holds the school record for singles wins with the women's tennis program after posting a 69-6 record during her career. She also helped the squad to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in 1996, 1997 and 1998 including the program's first undefeated season with a 16-0 record in 1998. Webb won Moravian's first-ever MAC Singles Championship in 1997 as the second seed and repeated as the champion in 1998 as the top seed, and she won the MAC Doubles title in 1996 with Cluny Erickson Tierney '97. Webb was also selected as the Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Outstanding Tennis Player in 1998 and 1999.
On the basketball court, Webb saw action in 92 career games with 703 points and 404 rebounds while helping the Greyhounds reach the MAC Playoffs three times in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
Webb is being joined by golfer Brian Bergstol '07; softball player Rosanna Azzolino Ettz '00; football standout Jarrod Pence '03; football player and former head football coach Larry Rosati '42 and former head men's and women's cross country coach Mark Will-Weber in the class of 2017 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2001 women's cross country team that was coached by Will-Weber will also be inducted on November 3.
