TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior forward Brandon McGuire has been selected to the 2016 Landmark All-Conference Second Team while freshman forward Oneil Holder has been honored as the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year.

The duo helped first-year Moravian Head Coach Justin Potts post an 11-14 record this winter, a six-game improvement over 2014-15, and the Greyhounds won four of their final five games of the season including setting the school record for points in a home game with a 107-98 victory over rival Muhlenberg College in the season finale.

McGuire, who earned postseason honors from the conference for the first time in his career, led Moravian in scoring this season at 17.4 points per game, and he also topped the Hounds on the boards at 9.0 rebounds per contest. McGuire connected on 161-of-306 field goal attempts (52.6 percent) and 27-of-78 three-pointers this season, and he added 33 assists, 25 blocked shots and 19 steals. This winter, McGuire posted nine double-doubles and he has 18 double-doubles in his career. McGuire heads to his senior season with career totals of 847 points and 485 rebounds.

"Brandon had a great year for us from start to finish," stated Potts. "I am proud of the year that he had. His work ethic and commitment are two great examples for our younger players to follow. This is a great honor for him as an individual and for our program. Congrats to Brandon on a well deserved honor."

Holder finished his debut collegiate season third on the Moravian squad in scoring at 13.8 points per contest, and he was second to McGuire on the boards at 6.8 rebounds per outing. Holder, the only Greyhound to start all 25 games this winter, led the team with 27 blocked shots, and he added 22 assists and 17 steals. Holder also led Moravian in free throws made with 105 and free throws attempted at 161, and he shot 46.4 percent (111-of-239) from the field while averaging 26.2 minutes per game. Holder had five double-doubles this season.

"Oneil had a great rookie campaign," Potts said. "He was extremely consistent for us from the first game to the last. I am really proud of his development during his freshmen year. He was the leading freshman scorer, rebounder and shot blocker and in the top of the conference overall in most of those categories. This is a great accomplishment for Oneil and one that everyone involved with the program is excited about.

"Both guys deserved these awards and like most awards they are a result of being part of a team that worked hard all year," Potts finished.

Coach Potts has all but one player slated to be back for the 2016-17 squad.
