Women Finish 6th on Short Course at Dickinson Invitational

NEWVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team took sixth of 19 teams on the short course of the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational at Big Spring High School Saturday.

The Greyhounds had a three-person team score of 57 points. Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania took the top spot in the short race with 10 points. The short course covered 4,000 meters for the women while the long course was the normal 6,000 meters. Several schools had teams entered in both races and combined the team totals for a final score.

Junior Claire Del Casale led Moravian with a time of 15:15.7 on the short course to place 12th of 144 runners. Junior Emily Lambright was 21st in 15:32.5 while freshman Meg Brockett took 37th in 16:07.2. Classmate Larissa Strycharz was 40th in the race with a time of 16:09.2 while junior Devon Bedell rounded out the Greyhounds' top five in 44th place in 16:20.

Moravian had four other runners compete Saturday with freshman Sarah Hughes finishing 48th, freshman Erin Love taking 51st, junior Jessie Goldberg placing 60th and junior Alyssa Tallon in 77th.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 5 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on the Goodman Campus in Bethlehem.
