Greyhounds Finish Fifth in Lehigh Invitational to Begin the 2023 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's cross country team opened the 2023 season with a fifth place finish at the Lehigh University Invitational Friday evening.

How It Happened

  • Sophomore Tara Smurla led the Greyhounds with a 28th place finish among the 80 runners with a time of 23:36.4 on the 6,000-meter course
  • Junior Rachael Goodman was 47th with a time of 24:21.8 while freshman Alexis Hockenberry took 49th in 24:25.6 and junior Amber Poniktera finished 54th in 24:32.6
  • Freshman Alyssa Hockenberry was two spots back in 56th with a time of 25:01.4 while junior Lexi Rushatz finished 57th in 25:09.4 and junior Ally Meeks was 58th at a time of 25:10.3 to round out Moravian's top seven runners
  • Senior Pia Mazzella DiBosco took 60th in 25:24.3
