Smurla Selected as Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Sophomore Tara Smurla of the Moravian University women's cross country team has been selected the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.

Smurla placed fifth of 189 runners with a personal best time of 22:10.6 to earn All-Region honors and lead the Greyhounds to a fifth place team finish at the 2023 NCAA Division III Metro Regional hosted by Rowan University. Smurla qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championship by finishing in the top seven not including members of the TCNJ squad that earned an automatic qualifier.

The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
