Moravian Women Take Second at Landmark Conference Preview Meet

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's cross country squad finished second of three teams at the Landmark Conference Championship Preview meet hosted by Juniata College at the Sunset Golf Club Friday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds scored 43 points while Susquehanna University took first with 19 points on the course that will be used for the conference championship meet in October
  • Sophomore Tara Smurla was the Greyhounds' top individual as she finished fifth of 32 runners as she posted a time of 15:00.20 on the 4,000-meter course
  • Junior Lexi Rushatz was the next Moravian runner to finish in eighth with a time of 15:09.10 while freshman Alexis Hockenberry took ninth in 15:11.60 and freshman Alyssa Hockenberry was tenth in a time of 15:11.90
  • Junior Ally Meeks placed 11th in 15:15.90 while junior Rylie Murphy was 13th in a time of 15:38.40. Freshman Kayla O'Neil took 14th in 15:41.80 while sophomore Grace Tirabassi finished 15th in 15:45.80
  • Freshman Kierstyn Klinger placed 20th in a time of 16:13.00 while junior Lily Mingora took 21st in 16:13.40
