Moravian Women Finish as Runner-Up at 2023 Landmark Conference Championships

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's cross country squad finished as the runner-up at the 2023 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships Friday hosted by Juniata College at the Sunset Golf Course.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds scored 66 points to take second of the 10 schools. The Catholic University of America won the conference title with 41 points
  • Junior Rachael Goodman paced the Greyhounds with a time of 23:57.24 on the 6,000-meter course to finish sixth of the 98 runners and earn Landmark All-Conference First Team honors
  • Sophomore Tara Smurla also garnered a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team with a seventh place showing in a time of 23:58.05
  • Freshman Alyssa Hockenberry earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as she finished 12th overall in 24:31.43
  • Rounding out Moravian's top five scorers were freshman Alexis Hockenberry in 20th with a time of 25:07.43 and junior Amber Poniktera, who was 21st in 25:19.28
  • Freshman Kayla O'Neil finished one spot back in 22nd in a time of 25:26.85 while sophomore Meghan Myers came in 24th in 25:39.78
  • Sophomore Grace Tirabassi finished in 27th in 25:44.21 while junior Ally Meeks placed 34th in a time of 26:05.49
  • Junior Lily Mingora was 35th in the race with a time of 26:09.78 while senior Pia Mazzella DiBosco recorded a time of 26:19.67 to place 37th
  • Junior Lexi Rushatz took 44th in 26:41.81 while freshman Kierstyn Klinger was 49th in 27:10.42 and junior Catie Lovett placed 50th in 27:17.99
  • Junior Rylie Murphy was 52nd in the meet in 27:25.89 while junior Hannah Kolonoski took 55th in a time of 27:45.04 and sophomore Tori Champagne finished 68thin 28:33.27
