Delia Selected to D3football.com All-South Region Third Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College senior linebacker Edward Delia has been selected to the 2016 D3football.com All-South Region Third Team.

Delia, who also earned a spot on the Centennial All-Conference First Team, helped the Greyhounds post a 5-5 overall record this season in his first year as a starter, and the Blue and Grey finished with a 4-5 mark in the Centennial Conference regular season.

Delia made a team and conference leading 124 tackles this fall, which tied for the tenth highest tackle total in a single season at Moravian. Delia contributed 65 solo stops (tied for the seventh most in a single season in school history), seven and a half tackles for loss, a half a sack, three interceptions which he returned for 25 yards, eight passes defended, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles in his first year as a starter.

Delia was a four-year letterwinner for Moravian but played just two seasons on defense and finished his career with 144 tackles, eight and a half tackles for loss and a pair of blocked kicks to go with his three interceptions, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles and fumble recovery. He spent his first two seasons in the offensive backfield with eight carries for 18 yards.

"Ed is well deserved of this recognition," stated Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "Ed had an exceptional senior season and he played a high level all year long. The most impressive thing about Ed is that this was his first year starting and only his second season at linebacker after making the transition from tailback at the end of his sophomore year. His competitiveness was outstanding and I could not be more proud of his accomplishments and selfless attitude."
