Greyhounds Race Past College of Mount Saint Vincent in Final Home Match of 2018

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team netted 12 goals in the first quarter and went on to post an 18-3 non-conference victory over visiting College of Mount Saint Vincent Tuesday evening at John Makuvek Field as the Greyhounds played their final home game of 2018.

The Hounds, now 7-6 on the season, had eight different players net goals in the contest led by junior attack James Carroll, who had four goals and an assist. Junior attack Mark Laratta also netted four goals to go with two caused turnovers while sophomore attack Cade Siddron contributed three goals, three assists and a pair of caused turnovers. Junior midfielder Dominick Gurreri had two goals and an assist while junior midfielder Austin Adams added two goals.

Junior attack Jack Gozzard had a goal and an assist while freshman midfielder Nate Skinner and sophomore Stas Lembryk each scored their first collegiate goals. Freshman midfielder Timothy Dwyer contributed two assists while junior midfielder AJ Cioffi had an assist.

Junior goalie Kurt Dick played the first 15 minutes of the match for the Greyhounds while freshman Will Dadouris recorded five saves in the final 45 minutes of the contest. Junior midfielder Rick Guerra won 15-of-23 face-offs to go with a team-high 10 ground balls while sophomore defender Brian Anthony had three ground balls an junior long stick midfielder John Kerrison caused two turnovers.

Laratta opened the scoring just 1:20 into the contest, and he would score four times before the end of the period while Carroll had three goals and Siddron added two as Moravian led 12-0 after 15 minutes of action. The Hounds added six more goals in the second quarter to lead 18-0 at the intermission while the Dolphins scored the only three goals of the second half.

Moravian is scheduled to close out the 2018 regular season on Saturday, April 28 in a Landmark Conference match at Goucher College beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Towson, Maryland. The winner of the contest will earn the fourth seed in the 2018 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Wednesday, May 2.
