Hounds Drop Non-Conference Match to Regionally-Ranked Montclair State

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 non-conference match to regionally-ranked Montclair State University Monday evening on John Makuvek Field.

The Greyhounds, now 4-2 on the season, had the first shot on goal in the match as junior midfielder Connor Phillips put an early test on the Red Hawks goalie in the fourth minute. Moravian's best opportunity to get on the scoreboard first came in the 18th minute when junior midfielder Brett Lubben lined up and took a direct kick from about 25 yards out that was hooking for the top right corner before being pushed over the cross bar. Moravian would get a shot late in the contest from junior defender Corey Klaskin that was right on goal.

Junior goalie Brian Yaskowski made six saves in the match, which was Moravian's final tune-up before conference play begins this weekend.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 24 when the squad begins its 2016 Landmark Conference season versus The University of Scranton in a match slated for 7:30 p.m. on John Makuvek Field. The official dedication of Makuvek Field, which was installed this summer, will take place prior to the match.
