BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College softball team posted a pair of five-inning shutouts over Hunter (N.Y.) College in non-conference action Saturday at windy Blue & Grey Field, winning the first game 12-0 and taking the second contest 8-0.

For the second straight twin bill, the Hounds received strong pitching performances in the circle with junior Lizzie Mack and sophomore Carsin Conner combining on a no-hitter in the opener and sophomore Lindsay Sullivan scattering two hits in the second game.

Mack improved to 3-0 this week in her return to the circle with a walk and a strikeout in the first three innings of the opener. Conner tossed the final two innings with a pair of strikeouts. Sullivan is now 4-0 on the season after the win in the second game that saw her strike out four batters in addition to two hits and three walks.

"It was good to see some nice pitching performances today," stated Head Coach John Byrne. "Lindsay pitched a complete game. I thought Carsin threw two strong innings, and Lizzie continues to throw the ball pretty well. It was nice to get out to leads in the first inning of both games so they work on getting outs."

Mack would get all the offense she needed in the bottom of the first inning when the Hounds plated eight runs. Junior first baseman Jenn Dalickas started the scoring with a two-RBI single. Senior third baseman Rachel DeLucia drew a bases loaded walk to push Dalickas home and senior second baseman Eavan Matz followed with a two-RBI single. Senior outfielder Dior George cleared the bases with a two-RBI double to the gap in right center field. Sophomore outfielder Mary Schlosbon drove in the final run win with an RBI single.

The Hounds added four more runs in the bottom of the second to finish the scoring in the first game. Senior designated player Cassie Ernst ripped an RBI double before Matz connected on another two-RBI single. Freshman outfielder Julie Siragusa drove in the final run with an RBI ground out.

Moravian had nine hits in the opener with Matz, George and Schlosbon each going 2-for-2.

Once again, the Hounds would give Sullivan all the offense she needed in the first inning by scoring five times. Senior catcher Taylor Mihalik hit a grounder with the bases loaded that the Hawks attempted to make a play at the plate on but a throwing error allowed two Greyhounds to score. Dalickas had another RBI single before DeLucia reached on another Hunter error that scored two more runs.

Moravian plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. George led off with a triple and scored on an RBI single from Schlosbon, and senior outfielder Miranda Sergas ripped an RBI single to left field to chase Schlosbon across the plate.

The Hounds finished the scoring with a run in the home half of the fourth inning on an RBI single from DeLucia.

The Greyhounds had another eight hits in the second game with George finishing a perfect afternoon by going 3-for-3.

Moravian was slated to host Ramapo College of New Jersey on Sunday, April 5 but that doubleheader has been postponed due to the Roadrunners needing to make up a New Jersey Athletic Conference twin bill. The Greyhounds will now return to action on Tuesday, April 8 in a non-conference doubleheader at Delaware Valley College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
