Dalickas Selected to NFCA All-America Second Team

TYLER, Texas --- Moravian College junior first baseman Jenn Dalickas has been named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Second Team announced Wednesday evening at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship Banquet in Tyler, Texas prior to the start of the Division III World Series on Thursday.

Dalickas, who helped the Greyhounds to a 29-8 record this past spring, becomes the fifth All-America in Moravian softball history joining Heather Bortz '05, who was a First Team All-American in 2004 and selected to the Second Team in 2003 and 2005, Meagan Hennessy '06, who earned All-America honors on the First Team in 2004 and the Second Team in 2005, Maria DeBonis '09, who was a Second Team All-American in 2007, and Shannen JoJo Mohr '13, who made the All-America Second Team in 2011.

Dalickas, who is a three-time member of the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-East Region First Team, was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team this spring for the third straight year, and she was also honored as the 2014 Landmark Conference Player of the Year. Dalickas paced Moravian with a .505 batting average to go along with 54 hits, 38 runs, 12 doubles, two triples, a school record 12 home runs, a school record 53 RBIs, a school record 106 total bases, a .991 slugging percentage, 19 walks and a .579 on-base percentage. This season, Dalickas made the defensive switch from right field to first base, and she recorded 218 putouts and seven assists in the field while starting in all 37 games, just one of two Greyhounds to play in every game this spring.

"Being named to the All-American Team is a great honor for Jenn and well deserved," stated Head Coach John Byrne. "Jenn had one of the best years offensively of any player we have had in the program and was equally as good defensively at first base. Having been named Conference Player of the Year, Team MVP and now 2nd Team All-American certainly tops off an outstanding season."
