Softball Sees Season End in Loss to Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The second seeded Moravian College softball team saw its 2014 season come to a close with an 8-0, five-inning loss to top seed and host Susquehanna University in the second elimination game of the 2014 Landmark Conference Tournament in Selinsgrove Saturday.

The Greyhounds finish the year with an overall record of 29-8, the first time in 13 years the Hounds failed to hit the 30-win mark, although the squad had three regular season doubleheader cancelled because of the weather.

The Crusaders, who moved on to play third seed the Catholic University of America in the championship round, scored once in the first, six times in the second and final run on the third inning.

Moravian's lone hit in the game came when junior first baseman Jenn Dalickas, the 2014 Landmark Player of the Year, doubled to right field to lead off the fifth inning. The two-bagger was Dalickas' team-leading 12th double of the season.

Sophomore Lindsay Sullivan took the loss in the circle for the Greyhounds after allowing five runs on six hits in one-plus innings of action. Senior Elizabeth Tillou pitched the final three innings, giving up three runs on eight hits.
