Women's Cross Country Places 14th at Regionals

The Moravian College women's cross country team finished in a tie for 14th of 47 teams at the 2011 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship hosted by DeSales University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 478 to tie with York College of Pennsylvania while Johns Hopkins University won the meet with a team total of 78. Dickinson College was second with a 99 while Elizabethtown College finished third with a team score of 108.

Senior Cadee Rockwell earned All-Region honors for a second straight year with a 22nd place finish of 335 runners in the race after a time of 23:49. Rockwell will find out Saturday evening or Sunday morning if she has earned a berth to next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship race for a second consecutive year.

Freshman Claire DelCasale was 68th in the race in a time of 24:48 while senior Kristina Ruggiero finished 77th in 25:00. Freshman Emily Lambright took 140th in the race in 26:02 while freshman Devon Bedell placed 177th in a time of 26:32. Rounding out the Moravian runners were senior Megan Hallowell in 182nd place in a time of 26:39 and freshman Jessica Goldberg at 209th in 27:16.

The 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship race is scheduled for Saturday, November 19th at The University of Oshkosh.
