Tim King
Class: 2022
Major: Psychology

How did you choose your sport? I was originally recruited for football and when I came up to do an overnight for football I went to the track and field home meet and met the coach and throwers. From there I knew I wanted to continue my track and field career here.

Why did you come to Moravian College? This school fit my criteria that I was looking for. Close, yet far from home, has my major, and the athletics I wanted to do.

What is your major and how did you choose it? I am a Psychology major and I chose it because I love helping people with their problems/mental health issues and it made me want to follow the route of counseling psychology.

What are your future plans? I'm looking to go into counseling psychology and help people overcome their trauma and mental health issues.

What is your favorite place on campus? The Dungeon (The throwers indoor practice area), The basketball courts, or PPHAC.

What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? USG (United Student Government), DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion), BSU (Black Student Union), SPECTRUM, Moravian College Athletic Diversity Committee (More than a Hound), Track and Field Leadership Team.

What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? My most memorable moment was when I PR'd (personal record) at a last chance track meet and moved to second in the conference for that event and qualified for Regionals at the same time.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions? As of last year, I started wearing my headband again when I go throw just for fun, but now I do it kind of as a good luck charm.

What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? Don't just connect with your event coach, meet other coaches, and meet as many staff members you can. The more people you know the more doors open for you while you attend this school.

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? Same as the advice I would give prospect. I was told to become involved and meet people and it has made a massive impact on my college career.

Who are your role models/most influential people? My role model is my older brother. I always looked up to him as a role model and as a father figure and I do my best to not only better myself because I want and need to but I want to make him as proud as possible as I can.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? My father (deceased), my mother, and my brother all at the same time just to talk to all of them at the same time and hear anything they have to tell me as well as tell them everything I've achieved in my 20 years of life.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. People usually are surprised at the athleticism I have. I'm nearly 300lbs, but I am kind of agile, have a 33-inch vertical and it surprises more people when they play basketball with me because that is when most of my athleticism is shown.
