BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next non-coaching staff member in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know series is our Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Renee Hellert, who is in her fourth year with the Greyhounds.

Renee Hellert
College: New England College '01

How did you get into your field? When I was an undergraduate, I worked for the Athletic Director as my work-study job.  After, I was lucky enough to serve as a graduate assistant in the same department while earning my Master's in Organizational Management.  I never left!

What is your favorite part of working at Moravian College? The PEOPLE.  Everyone on campus is so positive and forward thinking.  I enjoy the willingness of everyone to work together to create an incredible student experience.

What is your favorite place on campus? Mak Field at sunset, as the sun makes its way behind the HUB.

What is your most memorable moment at Moravian?  So many, for sure the pride and excitement I have felt when any of our teams have been successful!!!

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? People will do more when they are appreciated. Be sure to let others know how much you value their contributions.

Who are your role models/most influential people? All the strong women in collegiate athletics that have paved the way for females in leadership roles. There are so many professional mentors that have guided and supported my growth, including Lori Runksmeier (first AD I worked under and forever friend) and of course Mary Beth Spirk...can't get much better than these two in the mentor department.

Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? My wife will always be #1, my grandmother (mom's mom) who passed when I was very young and Michelle Obama.

What have you done more of since March that you wouldn't have if sports had not been postponed? Serving as an at-home elementary school teacher and spending time outside with the family.

If you weren't in your current position, what would you be doing? Either something in marketing research (undergraduate degree in marketing) or in the strategic/organization management field.  I value ORGANIZATION and systems.
