Field Hockey Adds Two Assistant Coaches

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey coaching staff has added two new members for the 2011 season with Elizabeth Grumbein and Kaitlin Boerman joining the staff.

"We are excited to have Elizabeth and Kaitlin join the staff for the 2011 season," stated Greyhound head coach Amy Endler. "They all bring a wealth of knowledge to the program from the NCAA Division III level, and we look for them to have an immediate impact on our squad."

Grumbein graduated from The Catholic University of America in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and she was the 2010 Landmark Conference Player of the Year as well as a Second Team All-American. Grumbein was also the 2010 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for field hockey, a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll and a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad for four years. Grumbein has helped coach in the National Field Hockey Association Futures Program since 2009.

Boerman comes to Moravian after a successful playing career at McDaniel College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science last May. Boerman was the second-leading scorer for the Green Terror last fall with six goals and five assists for 17 points, and she finished her career with ten goals and 15 assists over four seasons. Boerman has also helped coach in the National Field Hockey Association Futures Program since 2009.

The Greyhounds will open their 2011 season on Thursday, September 1st when they host DeSales University at Betty Prince Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
