Golfers Take 6th at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished sixth of 22 teams at the Muhlenberg College Invitational played at the Lehigh Country Club Monday.

The Greyhounds had a four-man team score of 310 in the tournament, trailing first place Messiah College by 13 strokes.

Freshman Kevin Kunkle led Moravian with a four-over-par round of 74 to finish in a tie for seventh place among the 113 golfers on the par 70 course in the tournament. Sophomore Aaron Brown fired a season-low round of 78 for the Greyhounds to tie for 25th while juniors Jim Maru and Evan Dickinson each had rounds of 79 as pair of a tie for 33rd place. Freshman Tyler Smith rounded out the Hounds line-up with an 81 Monday afternoon that tied him for 48th place.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action Monday, October 6 when the squad will return to the Lehigh Country Club to battle Muhlenberg and DeSales University in the John Makuvek Cup starting at 12:30 p.m. The match will count as the Matte Award contest for the Greyhounds and Mules.
