Golfers Place 5th at Alvernia Spring Invitational

KENHORST, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished fifth of 15 teams at the Alvernia University Spring Invitational played at the LedgeRock Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds fired a team score of 329 and finished 15 strokes behind Messiah College which finished with low team score of 306.

Moravian had three individuals finish in a tie for 20th place as juniors Evan Dickinson and James Lobb and freshman Kevin Kunkle each had rounds of 82. Lobb and Kunkle each carded nine pars in their rounds while Dickinson had eight pars. Junior Jim Maru was tied for 27th with an 83 that included 10 total pars while freshman Tyler Smith finished in a tie for 31st with a round of 84 that saw him make one birdie and nine pars on the afternoon.

The Greyhounds are not scheduled to return to action until the squad hosts the Annual Moravian Spring Invitational at the Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville on Thursday, April 9. Tee off is set for 12:30 p.m. in the tournament.
