Kunkle Named Corvias ECAC Division III Men's Golf Rookie of the Month

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College freshman Kevin Kunkle has been named the Corvias ECAC Division III Men's Golf Rookie of the Month for his performance during October.

Kunkle closed out his fall season with a trio of top-five performances last month. He led the Greyhounds with a five-over round of 75 on the Lehigh Country Club course to earn a third-place individual finish at the John Makuvek Cup. The next day at the Alvernia University Fall Invitational, Kunkle fired a season-low, even-par round of 72, to earn medalist honors as the Greyhounds captured the team crown at the LedgeRock Golf Club.

Kunkle had a fifth-place finish at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Invitational after shooting a round of 77 at the Indian Valley Country Club, and he finished the fall with a round of 74 to tie for seventh place at the Franklin & Marshall College Fall Invitational at the Bent Creek Country Club.

"This is a great honor for Kevin," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "He has been very consistent this fall and has really been a great addition to the team. We are very excited about the spring with him and the rest of the team."

Moravian has completed the fall portion of its 2014-15 season. The Greyhounds will resume action in March with a trip south during Spring Break for practice, and the first tournament of the spring is currently slated for Thursday, April 9, 2015 when the Greyhounds will host the annual Moravian Spring Invitational at Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville, Pennsylvania.
