ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Moravian College freshman Kevin Kunkle has been named the Empire 8 Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance over the last seven days.

Kunkle was the low player in both of the Greyhounds' outings last week. He started the week with a five-over par round of 75 at the Lehigh Country Club as Moravian finished second in the John Makuvek Cup hosted by Muhlenberg College. Kunkle's round included the only eagle of the day, shooting a three on the par five 11th hole. He also had four more birdies in his round.

Last Tuesday, Kunkle earned medalist honors at the Alvernia University Invitational, leading the 56-competitor field with an even par round of 72 at the LedgeRock Golf Club. Kunkle's season-low round included five birdies and eight pars as he shot 36 on both the front and back nine.

"Kevin is really staying within himself and playing solid golf," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 14 at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Invitational starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Indian Valley Country Club.
