Greyhounds Tie for 2nd at Griffin Invitational

TELFORD, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team tied for second at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Invitational played at the Indian Valley Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds tied with Wilmington (Del.) College with team scores of 315 as both squads finished one shot behind the host Griffins that fired a 314.

Junior Jim Maru paced the Hounds with a four-over par round of 76 to finish in a tie for third among the 60 golfers in the tournament. Freshman Kevin Kunkle was a stroke behind and tied for fifth with a round of 77 for the Greyhounds while junior Evan Dickinson was tied for 10th with a 78.

Freshman Tyler Smith carded a round of 84 to finish in a time for 27th while sophomore Aaron Brown finished off the Greyhounds line-up with a round of 87, which was tied for 33rd.

Moravian will close out the fall portion of its 2014-15 season on Monday, October 20 at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational to be played at the Bent Creek Country Club beginning at 12:30 p.m.
