BATH, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team captured first place at the annual Moravian Fall Invitational played at Southmoore Golf Course Thursday afternoon while the Greyhounds' White team finished fourth in the tournament.

The Hounds' Blue team had a winning score of 307 to finish ten strokes ahead of Rutgers-Camden. Gettysburg College took third with a four-man team score of 324 while Moravian's White squad was fourth strokes back with a 328. Daniel Rieger from Gettysburg was the medalist with a two-over par round of 73 on a comparison of the back nine scores as his 35 edged out Sean Sigall of Rutgers-Camden.

Senior Tyler Smith led the Greyhounds Blue team with a three-over par round of 74 that included three birdies and 10 pars and placed him third of the 59 golfers competing in the tournament. Sophomore Nick Kuhn finished a stroke back with a career-best 75 that included two birdies and 10 pars and was good enough for fourth place. Senior Kevin Kunkle and junior Joe Rochelle were both tied for seventh with rounds of 79. Kunkle's round included two birdies and eight pars while Rochelle carded three birdies and seven pars. Junior Kody Long rounded out the Blue squad with an 81 that included one birdie and eight pars and was tied for 12th place.

Sophomore Andrej Skrbinsek led the White team and tied Long for 12th place with an 81 which included two birdies and six pars while freshman Kody Kolnik was tied for 17th with an 82 that included one birdie and eight pars in his first collegiate round. Freshman Victor Tavares also tied for 17th in the first round of his college career, and he had eight pars. Senior Matt Miksiewicz finished in a tie for 21st with a round of 83 that included one birdie and six pars while freshman Thomas Lakata rounded out the Moravian lineup with an 87, which tied him for 33rd place and included five pars.

"All the guys played well today," noted Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "The conditions were hard with the wind, so to shoot 307 was really good. Tyler and Nick really played solid to lead the team. The second team also played solid led by Andrej and then two of the freshmen Victor and Kody which was nice to see. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going into Saturday's Landmark Invitational."

The Greyhounds are set to return to action on Saturday, September 30 at the Landmark Conference Fall Invitational being hosted by the University of Scranton at the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational, which will be the site of the inaugural Landmark Conference Championship Tournament next spring. Action is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday
