71 Greyhounds named to Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has announced its 2018 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, which recognized 71 student-athletes from Moravian College. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions with a total of 553 student-athletes.

The Landmark Academic Honor Roll recognizes all spring student-athletes of sophomore standing or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The student-athletes must complete the spring season in good standing with their team. The Spring Academic Honor Roll begins the academic award season for the conference with the Senior Scholar-Athlete for the spring sports to be named later this month.

Of the 553 student-athletes recognized this spring, 233 are repeat honorees having been awarded in a previous year. A remarkable 90 seniors have been named to the Honor Roll all three years they have been eligible. Over 30 honorees were named to their respective all-conference teams this spring, while nine were announced as Athletes of the Year.

Moravian had student-athletes from all nine spring sports teams named to the Academic Honor Roll. Leading the Greyhounds with the most honorees was the women's outdoor track and field team with 20 student-athletes followed by the men's outdoor track and field team with 12 selections. The baseball and women's lacrosse teams each had 10 honorees while the softball team had eight selections, the golf team had four, the men's lacrosse squad had three and both the men's and women's tennis teams each had two.

Leading the women's outdoor track and field team were seniors Melissa Cheong, Casie Cronk, Trista Cunningham, Beth Ann Davies, Mary Kate Duncan, Maggie Heft, Kirsten Lebo, and Carly Thorpe. Juniors Alyssa Limbaugh, Jordan Luciano, Amari Schooler, Abigail Strouse and Danielle Tomko made the honor roll along with sophomores Carly Danoski, Marlee Hornbaker, Meghan Lazarchak, Katie Mayer, Shayne McNally, Rachel Mikols and Hailee Yoder. The women's team captured its 11th Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship with Cunningham being selected as the Field Athlete of the Year.  Cunningham, Davies, Danoski, Duncan and Luciano made the All-Conference First Team while Cronk, Cunningham, Danoski and Schooler earned spots on the All-Conference Second Team for the Hounds.

On the men's outdoor track list for the Blue and Grey were seniors Robert Condo, Mike Kopach and Josh Toth, juniors Jon Anthony, Woodrow Battle, Tyler Bergsma, Aaron Hofmann, John Spirk and Alex Tursi and sophomores Ryan Harper, Greg Jaindl and Gavin Kemery. Moravian's men won their fourth straight Landmark Conference and tenth overall title. Condo, Harper and Spirk, earned spots on the All-Conference First Team while Harper and Jaindl garnered All-Conference Second Team honors.

The baseball team had seniors Adam Howard, Nicholas Mazzella, Ezra Rawdon and Clay Weidemoyer, junior Mike Mittl and Matt Stalter and sophomores Ian Csencsits, Ian Luberti, Connor Morro and Kole Rodrigues selected to the Academic Honor Roll with Mittl also making the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. The Greyhounds begin competition in the 2018 Landmark Conference Tournament on Friday at 3:30 p.m. versus The Catholic University of America.

The women's lacrosse team had senior Kyleigh McGovern as well as juniors Dalia Aguilar, Kelley Gavin, Jacqueline LaCava, Jillian Picciuto, Jessica Pisano and Melissa Webber and sophomores Liz Bill, Allie Brembt and Allie Fisher named to the Academic Honor Roll. Bill was also selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team while Webber was on the Landmark Conference Spring All-Sportsmanship Team. The Greyhounds were 11-5 this spring, a school record for wins, and the program made its first-ever appearance in the Landmark Conference Semifinals.

The softball squad had seniors Jean Markovic, Janae Matos, Josie Novak and Megan Taylor, juniors Julia DeMarco, Ashley Gindle and Madison Shaneberger and sophomore Emily Stanilious named to the Academic Honor Roll. Novak and Shaneberger were selected to the Landmark Conference All-Conference First Team for their play throughout the season with Novak selected as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year for the third straight spring. Markovic was also a member of All-Conference Second Team. The Greyhounds are 32-5 on the year, the 2018 Landmark Conference Champions and will play in the 2018 NCAA Division III Regionals on Friday, May 11 beginning at 11:00 a.m. versus Salisbury (Md.) University.

The golf team had seniors Matt Miksiewicz and Tyler Smith and juniors Kody Long and Joe Rochelle named to the Academic Honor Roll in the sport's first year of competition in the Landmark Conference. The Greyhounds finished third in the inaugural Landmark Conference Championships.

Juniors Austin Adams, John Kerrison and Anthony Pontone were the selections from the men's lacrosse program to the Academic Honor Roll this spring after helping Moravian to a 7-7 mark this season.

The women's tennis honorees are senior Grace Bailly and junior Kate Rennar. The women's tennis team was 11-3 and reached the Landmark Conference Semifinals this spring.

The men's tennis squad had juniors Austin Grace and Isaac Schefer named to the Academic Honor Roll.
