2001 Women's Cross Country - New Moravian Hall of Fame Team Inductee

The 2001 women's cross country team will join the Moravian College Hall of Fame on November 3.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The 2001 women's cross country team is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3, 2017 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Greyhounds were coached by Mark Will-Weber, who is also being inducted on November 3, ad the squad captured the program's ninth straight Middle Atlantic Conference Championship, won the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional title for a second straight year and finished third at the NCAA Division III National Championships. The squad was led by seniors Heidi Wolfsberger Peoples, Emily Shertzer and Kim Jaick Soden, who all earned All-America honors with People finishing second, Shertzer placing 27th and Soden finishing 32nd.

Peoples and Shertzer have both been inducted into the Moravian Hall of Fame with Peoples inducted in 2012 and Shertzer in 2013.

The women's cross country team and Will-Weber are being joined by golfer Brian Bergstol '07; football standout Jarrod Pence '03; women's tennis and women's basketball player Lynne Grzywacz Webb '99; football player and former head football coach Larry Rosati '42 and softball standout Rosanna Azzolino '00 in the class of 2017 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame.
