TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College men's golf team has been picked to win the inaugural Landmark Conference championship in the 2018 Preseason Poll voted on by the conference coaches.

The Landmark Conference, formed in 2007-08, has added men's and women's golf to the championship schedule this year. The winner of the 36-hole championship tournament in May will receive an automatic berth into the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

The Greyhounds, who competed in the Empire 8 Conference from 2009 through last spring, received 58 points and five first-place votes to finish 10 points ahead of The University of Scranton, which had the other two first-place votes. Goucher College was third in the poll with 40 points and Susquehanna University is fourth with 29 points.

"It is nice to be voted as the preseason No. 1 by the other coaches," stated eighth-year Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "The team is excited about the season and looking forward to hopefully having a strong spring and finishing first at the conference championship."

Moravian is schedule to begin its spring season on Tuesday, March 27 at the Alvernia University Invitational being played at the LedgeRock Golf Club.
