BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis squad recorded a 9-0 win over Delaware Valley University in non-conference action at Hoffman Courts Saturday to start the 2017-18 season.

The Greyhounds swept the doubles action to start the match and only two doubles contests were played with the Aggies limited to five players. Juniors Peter Demyan and Isaac Schefer posted an 8-1 win at first doubles while sophomore Christopher Csencsits and senior Mike Palmeri earned and 8-0 victory at second doubles.

Moravian then won the five singles matches played with Demyan finishing first with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at first singles. Schefer was off the court next with a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles while Csencsits added a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles. Freshman Mason Hudnall earned his first collegiate win at fourth singles by a score of 6-3, 6-2 while junior Austin Grace finished the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles.

"It doesn't take an in depth analysis to see that the Moravian men came to play," noted Head Coach Alan Heverly. "The team captains Peter and Isaac showed a business-like attitude and played their game to the fullest. We also saw Mike and Chris show we have some depth in doubles, and Austin did the same for our singles line up. Everyone on the team played very well."

The Greyhounds are slated to return to the courts on Sunday, September 17 when the team heads to FDU-Florham for a non-conference match beginning at 10:00 a.m.
