Men’s Cross Country Clear Favorite in Landmark Poll

MADISON, N.J. – The Moravian College men's cross country team has been selected first in the 2012 Landmark Conference preseason poll selected by the head coaches.

The Greyhounds are the defending Landmark Conference Champions and are in first place with 70 points and seven first-place votes. Susquehanna University sits in second with 50 points with one first-place vote while The University of Scranton is third with 39 points. Juniata College is fourth with 30 points, The United States Merchant Marine Academy is fifth with 25 points, Goucher College sits in sixth with 18 points, The Catholic University of America is in seventh with 16 points and Drew University is in eighth place with eight points.

Moravian looks to repeat as Landmark Conference Champions under second-year head coach Jesse Baumann. The Greyhounds return three seniors, one junior, three sophomores and add one freshman to the roster.

Sophomore Alec Duncan (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) was the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team during the 2011 campaign while senior Donnie Noble (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team while sophomore Dillon Farrell (North Wales, Pa./Wissahickon) was also named to the NCAA Division III Mideast Freshman All-Region Team.

Moravian opens its season this Friday, August 31st as they head to the Lehigh University Opener. The race is scheduled for 5 p.m.
