2012 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College seniors Eileen Black (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville HS) and Nicholas Hurff (Sewell, N.J./St. Augustine Prep HS) and sophomores Dillon Farrell (North Wales, Pa./Wissahickon HS) and Emily Lambright (Chalfont, Pa./Christopher Dock HS) have been named to the 2012 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team.

A total of 30 Landmark Conference student-athletes were named to the Fall All-Academic Team.  Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  The senior class was the most represented on the All-Academic Team with 13 selections. The remaining positions were taken by nine sophomores and eight juniors. In addition all six fall sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one selection and seven are repeat selections after being honored last fall. The Landmark Conference will select an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during the year.

Black was named the 2012 Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team.  Black anchored the defense while serving as an offensive threat after tallying four goals this fall. Black, who earned her fourth All-Conference selection, helped the Greyhounds post seven shutouts thanks to her leadership on the defensive side of the ball.  She had 14 goals and five assists for 33 career points while playing in 77 career matches.

Hurff was a four-year letterwinner and starting midfielder for the Greyhounds' men's soccer team.  He played in 15 matches this season, starting nine, and Nicholas has played in 65 career matches with 34 starts.  Hurff has been on the Dena's List six times and is looking for a career in the military after he completes his degree.  He was also on the 2011 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team.

Farrell was named the Landmark Conference Male Runner of the Year after winning the 2012 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Individual Championship on October 27th and leading Moravian to its second straight team title.  Farrell, who was the Landmark Conference Runner of the Week five times during the season, also broke the conference record on an 8,000-meter course by a minute during the season.  He earned All-Mideast Region honors with a fourth place finish in the Regional and finished 109th of 276 runners at the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championships last weekend.

Lambright helped Moravian finish as the runner-up at the 2012 Landmark Conference Championships after the squad won the team title during her freshman year.  Lambright finished two spots shy of earning All-Landmark Conference with a 16th place finish in 25:20.60.  During her freshman season, Lambright did earn Second Team All-Conference honors with an 11th place finish at the 2011 meet hosted by Moravian in the snow.
