Moravian Men’s Soccer Announces 2013 Newcomers

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- After fielding one of the youngest teams in the country during the 2012 season, the Moravian College men's soccer program continued taking strides forward by officially announcing their incoming recruiting class for the upcoming 2013 season.

"I'm very excited about the class we are bringing in," said Moravian Men's Soccer Head Coach Todd Ervin. "With a very young and determined team returning, there is no question we will be a strong program this fall.  We're looking for the incoming freshman to play key roles in our team during this upcoming season."

Listed below are the profiles of each of the seven Moravian Men's Soccer newcomers for 2013.

Jimmy Amorebella
Woolwich Township, N.J.
Kingsway Regional High School
Prior to Moravian: Three year varsity starter at Kingsway Regional HS…named captain during his senior season at KRHS…led Kingsway Regional to 2012 Tri-County Conference Championship…2012 All Conference Second-Team Selection…2011 All Conference Second-Team Selection…played club soccer for Cherry Hill FC Phoenix.
Coach Ervin on Jimmy: "Jimmy is a strong goalkeeper with a solid base of technical ability and athleticism.  We expect him to challenge immediately for a starting position in the fall."

Brendan Barca
Robbinsville, N.J.
Robbinsville High School
Prior to Moravian: Named captain of the Robbinsville HS boys team…broke the RHS career goal-scoring record during senior season…during senior year, broke the RHS record for goals scored in one season…led RHS to its first ever win in the state tournament…2012 Mercer County All-Conference Third-Team Selection…Selected to play in the 2012 Mercer County Hall of Fame Game.
Coach Ervin on Brendan: "As a talented outside midfielder, Brendan is a player who looks to use his strength and pace to generate dangerous offensive chances in the final third."

Prior to Moravian: Four year varsity starter at Brick Memorial HS…named captain during 2011 and 2012 seasons…2012 New Jersey All-State Third-Team Selection…2012 Ocean County All-County Third-Team Selection…2012 All Division First-Team Selection…2011 All Division First-Team Selection…played club soccer for Toms River FC Elite Strikers.
Coach Ervin on Travis: "Travis is an extremely fast player who looks to use his speed and work rate to consistently get in behind the back line to create scoring opportunities."

Prior to Moravian: Three year varsity starter for Allentown HS…led AHS to back to back state sectional final appearances in 2011 and 2012 seasons… 2012 NJ Honorable Mention All-State Selection…2012 NJ Second-Team All-Group Selection…2012 Monmouth County All-County First-Team Selection…Played club soccer for Upper Freehold Allentown Attack.
Coach Ervin on Ryan: "Ryan is a strong center back with good size and the ability to dominate the field.  We expect him to help solidify our back line."

Prior to Moravian: Named the 2013 Liberty HS Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete…named captain of LHS during senior season…2012 Lehigh Valley Conference All-Conference First-Team Selection…named to The Morning Call's All Area First-Team in 2012…listed as The Express Times standout players of the year in 2012…named captain for his club team—Keystone Athletic.
