Men's Soccer Shuts Out Lancaster Bible, 1-0

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Moravian College men's soccer team shutout Lancaster Bible College, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Lewis Cooper netted the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute.

In the first half, Moravian outshot the Chargers 8-5 and held the corner kick advantage, 2-1. Freshman forward Zachary Klein almost put the Hounds out in front in the 19th minute, but his shot would hit the post. Freshman goalkeeper Brian Boland came up with a save in the 38th minute to keep the match knotted at zero.

In the second half, Cooper would have one of his shots saved by senior goalie Tim Landis Jr. for Lancaster in the 56th minute. Six minutes later, Cooper took a cross from freshman defender Lee Rabin and then he put it in the back of the net for his second goal of the season. The Chargers would try to come back, but come up short as they fell 1-0.

Bolland made three saves in his first collegiate shutout, and his second win of the season. Landis Jr. tallied seven saves in the loss.

The Greyhounds outshot Lancaster, 21-7, and held the corner kick advantage 8-3.

Moravian returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 6th as they travel to Landmark Conference foe Juniata College. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
