Men's Soccer Falls to Catholic, 2-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College men's soccer team fell to Landmark Conference rival The Catholic University of America, 2-0, Saturday afternoon.

Both teams battled to a 0-0 tie up until the 37th minute of the first half when the Cardinals finally broke the tie with a goal from sophomore midfielder Hunter Horvath. Catholic would take the 1-0 lead into halftime.

At the start of the second half junior forward Ian Smith netted his fifth goal of the season for Catholic to go up 2-0 in the 47th minute. The Greyhounds would battle the rest of the way, but fall to Catholic 2-0.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Brand made eight saves in the contest while his counterpart sophomore Torsten Meuschke recorded the shutout.

Moravian returns to the pitch on Tuesday, September 25th as they travel to Bryn Athyn College. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
