Men's Soccer Falls to Goucher

TOWSON, Md. – The Moravian College men's soccer team fell to Landmark Conference opponent Goucher College, 5-0, Saturday afternoon.

Freshman forward Parker Bay put the Gophers on the board in the 12th minute, after taking a pass and going one-on-one with the goalie to score. Freshman midfielder Seth Reynolds had a chance to tie the contest at one in the 28th minute with a header shot on goal, but Goucher freshman goalie Scott Witte made the save. The Gophers added two more goals before the end of the first half from sophomore midfielder Nate Margolis and freshman midfielder Sean Canepa to go into halftime up 3-0.

The Gophers added two more goals in the second half to win 5-0.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Brand played 55 minutes while making six saves in the loss while freshman Brian Bolan tallied three saves in 35 minutes. Their counterpart, Witte made two saves in the shutout.

The Gophers held the shot advantage at 17-8, and the edge corner kicks at 3-0.

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, October 27th as they host Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna University. It's senior day for the Moravian squad, and the match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
