Men's Soccer Falls to Rival Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Moravian College men's soccer team fell to rival Muhlenberg College, 5-0, Wednesday night.

Moravian would get a chance to take the lead early with a shot from freshman forward Andrew Arcell, but junior goalkeeper Jas Chojnowski would make the tough save for the Mules. Senior goalie Mike Brand would make a good save in the 31st minute to keep the contest knotted at zero. Senior forward Cody Antonini would break the tie for Muhlenberg in the 32nd minute. Freshman forward Dan Joseph would push the Mules lead to 2-0 with a goal of his own in the 38th minute.

Muhlenberg pushed its lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute with a goal from sophomore midfielder Oliver Katz. Sophomore midfielder Lewis Cooper got a shot on goal in the 74th minute, but freshman goalkeeper Ellison Heil made the save. Muhlenberg would add two more goals to win 5-0.

Brand made one save in the contest while the Mules split time between two goalies. Chojnowsk made one save in 45 minutes, Heil made one save in 38 minutes while sophomore Danny Pinto played the final seven minutes.

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, September 15th as they host Lebanon Valley College. The match is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
