Drew Defeats Men's Soccer, 3-0

MADISON, N.J. – The Moravian College men's soccer team fell to Landmark Conference rival Drew University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers got on the board in the 6th minute with a goal from junior midfielder Ricardo Castro after a cross from sophomore forward Daniel Ratyniak. Sophomore forward Tommy Tolve would push Drew's lead to 2-0 in the 7th minute after netting a goal. Castro netted his second goal of the contest in the 34th minute to put the Rangers up 3-0.

Both teams had two corner kicks in the first half with Drew holding the edge in shots at 5-4.

The Greyhounds would pressure in the second half to try and make a comeback, but end up falling 3-0.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Brand (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) made three saves in the contest while his counterpart senior Rich Boland made four saves in 75 minutes. Sophomore goalie Michael Reyes played the final 15 minutes for the Rangers.

Drew held the shot advantage at 14-10, and the edge in corner kicks at 7-4.

The Greyhounds return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 3rd as they travel to Lancaster Bible College. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
