Men's Soccer Drops Close One to Lebanon Valley

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College men's soccer team was defeated by Lebanon Valley College, 2-1, Saturday afternoon.

Moravian would get on the board first when senior forward John Pavia drilled a corner kick to junior defender Jeffrey Algor, who headed it in for his first goal of the season in the 17th minute. The Flying Dutchmen answered with a goal from freshman forward Cam Alexander just seven minutes later to tie the contest at one. The two teams would battle the rest of the half to a 1-1 tie.

Lebanon Valley would break the tie in the 63rd minute with a goal from senior forward Travis Miller off a corner from senior midfielder Octavio Romero. The Greyhounds would battle the rest of the way, but end up falling 2-1.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Brand made four saves in the loss while his counterpart senior James Clements tallied up three saves.

The Greyhounds return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 19th as they host Delaware Valley College. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
