BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College has named seniors Mike Brand (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown HS) and Nick Hurff (Sewell, N.J./St. Augustine Prep HS) along with junior Jeffrey Algor (Spring Lake Heights, N.J./Manasquan HS) as captains of the men's soccer team for the 2012 season.

Brand is entering his fourth year on the team as a goalie and looks to be the Greyhounds' starter in net for the second straight season.  Brand has 122 career saves and has seen over 1,500 minutes in goal.

Hurff is also in his fourth year with the squad and will anchor Moravian's midfield for the 2012 campaign.  Hurff earned a spot on the Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team last season, and he is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Algor returns up front for his third season as a forward.  Algor has needed seven goals and added an assists for 15 points in his first two years on the team.

The Greyhounds began their 2012 preseason on Saturday, August 18th, and Moravian opens the regular season on Friday, August 31st with a match versus Washington & Lee University at the Fuzzy Williams Memorial Tournament being hosted by Bethany (W.Va.) College.
