Moravian Remains Unbeaten in Landmark Conference Action on Hughes’ PK

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference action after a 1-0 victory over visiting Goucher College on John Makuvek Field Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds would get the only goal of the match in the 11th minute when junior defender Kylie Hughes converted on a penalty kick
  • The Hounds finished the night with an 8-3 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks

Inside the Numbers

  • Hughes' goal was her first goal of the season and the third in her career. It was also Hughes' first-ever PK goal
  • The penalty kick goal was the first for the Hounds in almost exactly two years with the last PK tally for Moravian coming on October 4, 2021 when Amanda Meinster converted a penalty shot versus Lancaster Bible College
  • Senior goalie Payce Korpics played the first half of the contest while senior goalie Paige Harrison was in the net for the second half. Neither keeper needed to record a save for their fifth combined shutout of the season and 19th combined shutout over the last three years
