Women's Cross Country has a Strong Showing at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team was off to the races to compete at the 2015 Paul Short Invitational Women's Brown 6,000-meter race on a very muddy and chilly Friday afternoon at Lehigh University.

Leading the Hounds this afternoon was junior Meg Brockett, who ran a 22:54 which placed her 93rd of 385 runners and ran just fast enough to finish in front of teammate junior Sarah Hughes, who ran a time of 22:58. Both Brockett and Hughes ran over 20 seconds faster than they had earlier in the season on the same course.

Sophomore Larkin Brown posted a time of 24:51 while freshman Kelly Gonoude finished just behind Brown with a time of 24:54, which was nearly a minute faster than she had previously on the same course from earlier this year. Freshman Alyssa Limbaugh clocked a time of 25:26 while sophomore Kirsten Lebo crossed the line with a time of 25:39. Rounding out the race for Moravian was junior Larissa Strycharz, who finished with a time of 26:05.

Next up for the Greyhounds is the Rowan University Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday, October 17. The first races of the day for the Hounds will be starting off at 11:45 a.m.
