Greyhounds Play to Scoreless Draw Versus Rutgers-Camden at Drew Fall Festival

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team played to a scoreless, double-overtime draw versus Rutgers-Camden Sunday afternoon on the second day of the Drew University Fall Festival. The Greyhounds finished the tournament at 1-0-1 over the weekend to earn the Drew Fall Festival Championship.

Junior goalie Jessica Lawton stopped all four shots she saw including three in the second half and one in the second overtime for her first career shutout for the Hounds.

Moravian, now 2-1-1 on the season, had an overall 14-11 edge in shots with both teams getting four on goal, and both squads each had three corner kicks.

The Greyhounds had the first shot of the match with sophomore forward Gabby Stelzmiller putting a shot on the keeper just four and a half minutes into action. Moravian added two more shots on goal in the final two minutes of the half with back-to-back shots from freshmen defender Meaghan Lazarchak and forward Taylor Irr needing to be saved from going in the net.

Irr had another shot on goal just 20 seconds into the second half for the Hounds, and then she had the best scoring chance of the match for the Blue and Grey nine minutes later when she drilled the post from 18 yards out.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 14 in a non-conference match at Rowan University starting at 7:00 p.m.
