Women's Soccer Drops Landmark Conference Opener to Scranton

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to The University of Scranton, 3-0, to begin the 2016 Landmark Conference season Saturday at John Makuvek Field.

"I thought we struggled today," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "We looked tired and a step slow. Our tough non-conference schedule caught up to us at a bad time. Combine that with a very talented Scranton team and you end up with a frustrating loss. The only positive was our back half possession and with no mid week game next week we hope to get our attacking players to continue that in the final third."

Senior forward Valentina Margiottiello had an early shot go wide for the Greyhounds while junior forward Catherine Condly and sophomore forward Gabby Stelzmiller each put a shot on goal late in the first half as Moravian looked to even the score before the intermission.

Junior goalie Jessica Lawton ended the match with four saves for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, October 1 in a Landmark Conference match at Drew University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
